Maeda Park Water Play Area
About this spot
The Maeda Park Water Play Area in Maeda Park (前田公園) in Teine-ku, Sapporo, is a shallow water play spot that is free to use. It usually opens from around Wednesday, July 1 to around Monday, August 31, from 10:00 to 16:00, and the City of Sapporo describes the period as early July to late August. The water is shallow, so even small children who cannot swim yet can walk in on their own. Being a park in a residential neighborhood, it also offers the appeal of joining an everyday summer scene alongside local children. There are no changeover breaks, so children can alternate play and rest at their own pace. Admission is free, so it also suits a short afternoon-only visit.
