Noshi Park Chapu-Chapu Water Plaza

About this spot

The Noshi Park Chapu-Chapu Water Plaza in Noshi Park (農試公園) in Nishi-ku, Sapporo, is a shallow water play spot that is free to use. It is open from Monday, June 1, 2026 to Wednesday, September 30, 2026, from 9:00 to 17:00, one of the longest seasons among the wading ponds in the city. The pond was renovated in 2023, and the water is shallow enough that preschoolers can walk in on their own. The grounds include Twin Cap with its indoor play room, restrooms, and a car park, which makes arranging changes of clothes and rest breaks easy for families. Because it is usable from June through September, it can be worked into plans before and after the summer holidays as well. Admission is free.

Tips

It closes at 17:00. Allowing time to change and pack up, get out of the water around 16:45. It may be unavailable on some days due to weather, water temperature, or cleaning work, so check the City of Sapporo information page for that day's status before heading out. It is a popular park, so summer-holiday weekends get crowded. Claiming a shaded spot early makes the day more comfortable. Children not yet out of diapers should bring swim diapers.

Best time to visit

About 2 hours 30 minutes. The afternoon, when the sun softens, is the most comfortable time of day
