The Chuwa Park Babbling Stream and Wading Pond in Chuwa Park (忠和公園), Asahikawa City, is a water play spot that can be used free of charge. In 2026 it is available from Monday, June 1 to Monday, August 31, from 10:00 to 17:00. There is both a shallow stream and a wading pond, so children can enjoy walking along the flow as well as standing still in the pond and feeling the water. The water is shallow, so even small children who cannot yet swim can step in on their own feet. The park has a gymnasium, play equipment and a car park, and this abundance of fallback options when the children tire of the water is one of its strengths. Since there is no charge, it also works well as an afternoon-only stop.

Tips

It closes at 17:00. Getting out of the water around 16:30 leaves enough time to change and pack up without rushing. There are days when it cannot be used because of weather, water temperature or maintenance work, so check the official information for the current situation before you set out. Shade is limited at certain hours, so do not forget a hat and sunscreen. For children who are not yet out of nappies, please bring swim nappies.
