Housed in Taisetsu Crystal Hall in Kagura, Asahikawa City, this museum brings together the citys history and natural environment in one place. Alongside exhibits on how the Kamikawa Basin (上川盆地) was formed and on its plants and animals, there are displays conveying the culture of the Ainu people who have lived here, so you can trace the layers of the land called Asahikawa (旭川) all at once. Many of the exhibits are actual artefacts, and the shape and size of the tools let you picture daily life of the time in concrete terms. Being indoors, it is also well suited to summer, letting you spend the strongest hours of sunlight in comfort. It builds a quiet interval into the day before the afternoons water play.

旭川市の忠和公園にある「忠和公園せせらぎ・徒渉池」は、無料で利用できる水遊び場です。2026年は6月1日(月)から8月31日(月)まで、時間は10:00〜17:00で利用できます。浅いせせらぎと徒渉池が用意されていて、流れに沿って歩く遊びと、池でじっと水にふれる遊びの両方ができます。水深が浅いので、まだ泳げない小さな子どもでも自分の足で入っていけます。園内には体育館や遊具、駐車場があり、水遊びに飽きたときの逃げ場が多いのもこの公園の強みです。料金は無料なので、午後だけ立ち寄る使い方にも向いています。

Tips

終了は17:00です。着替えと片づけを考えて16:30ごろに水から上がると余裕をもって帰れます。天候や水温、点検作業によって利用できない日があるため、出かける前に公式の案内で当日の状況を確認してください。日陰が限られる時間帯があるので、帽子と日焼け止めは忘れずに。おむつが取れていない子は水遊び用おむつを用意しましょう。

Tips

Admission is free for junior high school students and younger. Please check the adult admission fee, opening hours and closing days on the official website. Please view the exhibits quietly. Some parts of the display are difficult for children, so focusing on whatever catches their interest keeps them from getting bored.
