Tobu Chuo Park Seseragi Stream is a shallow brook channel in Tobu Chuo Park (東部中央公園), Asahikawa City, where water flows only in summer. In 2026 it is open from June 1 (Mon) to August 31 (Mon), 10:00 to 17:00, and use is free. The channel runs long and narrow, so simply walking from upstream to downstream is enough to keep children entertained. The water is shallow and the flow gentle, so even a child who has just started walking can stand on their own feet and play. There is no admission fee and no timed changeover, so the joy of the stream is that play and rest can repeat at the child's own pace. As it is a park within a residential neighborhood, moments arise when your children naturally mix in and start playing with local kids.

Assume there are no changing rooms, and wearing swimwear underneath makes changing easier. The bed of the channel can be slippery, so sandals that protect the soles of the feet are reassuring. Shade is limited, so prepare a picnic sheet and hats, plus one light layer to put on after getting out of the water.
