One of the shops that represent Asahikawa ramen, with its main store in the city centre. The distinctly Asahikawa combination of a pork-and-chicken broth blended with seafood plus thin, wavy noodles looks rich but leaves a light aftertaste. The noodles are thin, so even small children can slurp them easily, which families appreciate. Because Asahikawa locals eat here regularly, it stays in the memory as a taste of daily life rather than a tourist dish. Given how much you will move around in the afternoon, eating well here is the right call.

金星公園徒渉池は、旭川市の金星公園に夏のあいだだけ開かれる浅い水遊び場です。2026年は6月1日(月)から8月31日(月)まで、10:00〜17:00に開放され、利用は無料です。水深が浅いので、歩き始めたばかりの子でも自分の足で立って遊べるのが安心なところ。入場料も入れ替えもないので、水に入って走り、疲れたら岸で休むという自由なリズムで過ごせます。市街地に近い立地なので、午前に美術館や常磐公園を回ってから寄るという一日の組み立てが無理なく成り立ちます。夕方まで遊んで、そのまま歩いて帰れる距離感も家族連れにはありがたい点です。

Tips

開放は10:00〜17:00です。天候不良や清掃、水質管理の都合で休みになることがあるため、出発前に旭川市の案内で当日の状況を確認してください。更衣室は用意されていない前提で、水着は下に着ていくか、ラップタオルなどで着替えられる準備をしておきましょう。日陰が限られるためレジャーシートと帽子があると休憩が楽になります。北海道の夏は日が陰ると急に涼しくなるので、上がったあとに羽織れる一枚を必ず持っていってください。

Tips

The lunch peak can mean queues, so arriving after 12:30 or, conversely, before noon makes it easier to get a seat. Small plates for sharing can usually be requested, but bringing a fork for your child is more certain. The broth is firmly salted, so remember to rehydrate afterwards.
