About this spot

A nature park in the western part of Tomakomai City, spreading out at the foot of Mt. Tarumae (樽前山). Forest surrounds two marshes, Onuma and Konuma, giving it a stillness completely unlike a park in town. Walking the trails, the wind crossing the water passes through, and you can clearly feel the perceived temperature drop even in midsummer. Simply looking for waterfowl and insects keeps children happily following along. Being in the same Tarumae area as Auto Resort Tomakomai Alten, it fits neatly into the morning before the afternoon water play.

オートリゾート苫小牧アルテンあそんで池は、樽前山のふもとのリゾートの敷地内にある浅い池の水遊び場です。苫小牧市の案内では開放期間は通年とされていますが、水遊びを楽しめるのは夏季が中心になります。利用は無料で、水深が浅いので歩き始めたばかりの子でも自分の足で立って遊べます。森に囲まれているため木陰が多く、真夏でも直射日光を避けながら過ごせるのがこの場所の大きな強みです。同じ敷地にキャンプ場、温泉、トイレ、駐車場がそろっているので、着替えや休憩の場所に困らず一日を通して過ごせます。遊び終わったらそのまま温泉に入って帰れるという流れは、ほかの水遊び場ではなかなかつくれません。

Tips

水遊びができる状況かどうかは、出かける前にアルテンの案内で確認してください。池の底は自然のままの場所があるため、足裏を守れる水遊び用サンダルを履かせると安心です。森の中なので虫よけを用意しておきましょう。上がったあとは温泉に入るか、着替えて体を冷やさないようにしてください。駐車場から池までの動線を最初に確認しておくと、荷物の出し入れが楽になります。

Tips

There are insects in the forest, so bringing repellent makes it more comfortable. The trails are earthen and can turn muddy after rain. Some spots beside the marsh have no railings, so do not take your eyes off small children. Vending machines are limited, so prepare drinks in advance.
