A day-use hot-spring facility inside the grounds of Auto Resort Tomakomai Alten. It is set up so that day-trip families can drop in casually, not only campers. There is a place to eat, so finishing lunch here before the water play lets you leave your bags and simply go play, keeping everything light. Being able to rest indoors with air conditioning means you can get through the hours of strongest sunshine without spending energy. The biggest advantage of having this facility on the grounds is that you can come back after the water play for another soak.

オートリゾート苫小牧アルテンあそんで池は、樽前山のふもとのリゾートの敷地内にある浅い池の水遊び場です。苫小牧市の案内では開放期間は通年とされていますが、水遊びを楽しめるのは夏季が中心になります。利用は無料で、水深が浅いので歩き始めたばかりの子でも自分の足で立って遊べます。森に囲まれているため木陰が多く、真夏でも直射日光を避けながら過ごせるのがこの場所の大きな強みです。同じ敷地にキャンプ場、温泉、トイレ、駐車場がそろっているので、着替えや休憩の場所に困らず一日を通して過ごせます。遊び終わったらそのまま温泉に入って帰れるという流れは、ほかの水遊び場ではなかなかつくれません。

Tips

水遊びができる状況かどうかは、出かける前にアルテンの案内で確認してください。池の底は自然のままの場所があるため、足裏を守れる水遊び用サンダルを履かせると安心です。森の中なので虫よけを用意しておきましょう。上がったあとは温泉に入るか、着替えて体を冷やさないようにしてください。駐車場から池までの動線を最初に確認しておくと、荷物の出し入れが楽になります。

Tips

Check the opening hours, prices and meal service times in advance. If you plan a second bath in the afternoon, keeping a set of towels in the car saves a trip. In busy seasons there can be a wait at the dining area, so allow extra time. Putting swimwear on underneath here lets you start playing as soon as you reach the pond.
