The Kaguraoka Park Waterfall and Stream is a free water play spot running through the woods of Kaguraoka Park (神楽岡公園) in Asahikawa. In 2026 the water flows from Monday, June 1 to Monday, August 31, between 11:00 and 15:00. It consists of a waterfall and a shallow stream, and the water is shallow enough for small children to stand on their own feet and play. The greatest charm of this park is that it lies within woodland: there is plenty of shade, so you can avoid direct sunlight even in midsummer. The park also has playground equipment, so children can switch to dry-land play once they tire of the water and never run out of things to do. Because forest from the settlement era has been preserved here, the hours spent with only the sound of water and birdsong feel completely different from a park in the city.

The water flows only from 11:00 to 15:00, a fairly short window. Arriving late cuts playtime sharply, so do not pack the morning too tightly.
