Noe Fureai Park Splash Pond

This is the free water play spot known as the Noe Fureai Park Splash Pond in the Noe district of Sosa City (匝瑳市). The shallow splash pond is the centerpiece, so even children who have only just started walking can step into the water on their own feet. The park also has a roller slide, an adventure playground and a multipurpose field, so when they get cold they warm up on the equipment, and when they get hot they head back to the water: the play never stops all day. Set in farmland close to the Kujukuri (九十九里) coast, it is free of the crowds of a big leisure facility, which is the charm of this park. When you arrive, first spread a picnic sheet in the shade and make lunch out of what you bought at the farmers market. Admission is free, the 2026 opening period has not been announced, and in past years the water has been turned on during the summer holidays.

Tips

The opening period has not been announced, so check the Sosa City information for conditions on the day before you set out. The bottom of the pond can be slippery, so water shoes or sandals rather than bare feet are reassuring. Sliding down the roller slide with a wet body chafes easily, so dry off before playing on it. For children still in diapers, bring swim diapers, and rinse everything well at a tap after playing.
