Tenpukuji Temple / Hanashima Kannon (天福寺・花島観音)
About this spot
This old temple stands on high ground adjoining Hanashima Park (花島公園), and has long been known affectionately as Hanashima Kannon. The precincts are surrounded by tall trees, so the air stays cool even in summer. It overlooks the Hanami River (花見川), and it is almost uncanny how the bustle of the residential area falls away as you climb the stone steps of the approach. It is not a sightseeing facility with showy highlights, but the atmosphere of a place where local people have joined their hands in prayer for generations feels fresh even to children. It is right next to the park, so the distance is just right for a stop at the start of the morning.

千葉市花見川区の花島公園にある、無料の水遊び場「花島公園 渓流園・噴水広場」です。滝から始まり長さ約200mにおよぶ流れが続く「渓流園」と、噴水石3基のある「噴水広場」の2つがあり、上流から下流へと歩きながら遊べる構成になっています。同じ場所にとどまらず、水の流れを追いかけて移動できるので、飽きっぽい子でも長く楽しめるのが魅力です。開設期間は未発表で、例年は夏休み期間の開放となっています。市の公式ページにも稼働期間の記載がないため、出かける前に確認してから向かってください。木立に囲まれた公園なので木陰が多く、休憩をはさみながら遊べるのも家族連れにはありがたいところです。
Tips
稼働期間が未発表なので、必ず事前に確認してから出かけてください。石の上を歩く場面が多いため、脱げにくいマリンシューズがあると安心です。流れに沿って移動できるぶん、子どもが先へ先へと進みやすいので、待ち合わせの場所を先に決めておきましょう。更衣室は期待せず、着替えはトイレか日陰で済ませる準備をしておくと慌てません。
Tips
There are stone steps, so in places a baby carrier is easier to move with than a stroller. The precincts are a place of worship, so tell children in advance not to run around. The trees are dense, so there are mosquitoes; insect repellent makes it more comfortable. There is plenty of shade, so you can walk in cool comfort even on a summer morning.

About 45 minutes. The morning, when the shade of the trees is deepest, is especially pleasant
