This facility along the main approach to Naritasan serves as both a tourist information point and an exhibition space. The highlight is the display of floats paraded at the Narita Gion Festival, where you can look up at the fine carvings and decorations from close range. Even when it is not festival day, it is fascinating how clearly you get a sense of how this town greets the summer. There is also a rest area, making it a handy place to catch your breath partway along the approach. The exhibition is compact, so even small children can finish looking round before they lose interest.

成田駅から歩いて行ける距離にある「栗山公園自然石の流れ」は、自然石を使った親水施設が主役の無料の水遊び場です。コンクリートで固めた水路ではなく自然の石を組んでいるため、水の流れ方に変化があり、せき止めたり水路を作ったりと子どもが自分で遊び方を見つけられます。園内には芝生広場のほか、D51の展示とミニSLがあり、水に飽きたら機関車を見に行けるのがこの公園ならではの魅力。門前町を歩いたあとに立ち寄れる立地なので、成田観光と水遊びを1日でつなげられます。利用は無料で、2026年の開設期間は未発表、例年は夏休み期間に水が流れます。

Tips

開設期間が未発表のため、出かける前に成田市の案内で当日の状況を確認してください。ミニSLは運行日が限られているので、乗りたい場合は事前に運行日を調べておきましょう。自然石は表面が滑りやすく角もあるため、素足ではなくマリンシューズやサンダルが安心です。おむつが取れていない子は水遊び用おむつを用意し、遊んだあとは足をよく洗い流してください。
