Kuriyama Park Natural Stone Stream

Within walking distance of Narita Station, the Kuriyama Park Natural Stone Stream is a free water play spot centred on a water-play feature built from natural stones. Because it is assembled from natural rocks rather than set in concrete, the water flows in varied ways, and children can find their own ways to play — damming the flow or building channels. Along with a lawn area, the park has a D51 steam locomotive on display and a mini steam train, so being able to go and see a locomotive when they tire of the water is this park's own particular charm. Its location makes it an easy stop after walking the temple town, connecting Narita sightseeing and water play in a single day. Use is free; the 2026 opening period has not been announced, but in most years the water flows during the summer holidays.

The mini steam train runs only on limited days, so if you want to ride it, look up the operating days in advance. Natural stones have slippery surfaces and sharp edges, so water shoes or sandals are safer than bare feet. Bring swim nappies for children who are not yet out of nappies, and rinse feet thoroughly after playing.
