Jomyoji Temple (浄妙寺)

About this spot

An old temple in Miyazaki-cho, Arida City, whose wooden halls are preserved as nationally designated Important Cultural Properties. There is nothing flashy about it, but the sight of the buildings still standing just as they were in a quiet mountain valley has a calm all its own. It rarely gets crowded like a tourist spot, so the good thing here is that you can walk slowly with children. Just looking up at the wooden pillars and the curve of the roof and asking 「How long ago do you think this was built?」 brings history much closer. Spending a quiet stretch of the morning here makes the lively water play of the afternoon stand out even more.

有田市の「有田市健康スポーツ公園 BIG SMILE PARK 水遊び噴水(えみくるランド)」は、遊具ひろば「えみくるランド」の中にある水遊びの噴水です。同じひろばには6歳から12歳向けのスーパーアスレチックコンビ、誰でも遊べるインクルーシブゾーン、高さ13.3mのハイタワーチューブスライダー、3歳から6歳向けの3Dトランポリン、日よけになる防災パーゴラが併設されています。水に飽きたら遊具、遊具に飽きたらまた水と、年齢の違う兄弟でもそれぞれの遊び場が見つかるのが大きな強みです。えみくるランドの遊具と水遊び噴水は無料で、えみくるフィールドとえみくるドームは有料。ほかにも健康遊具ルート「えみくるルート」、屋根付き多目的ひろば「えみくるドーム」、人工芝の多目的グラウンドがそろっています。

水遊び噴水の稼働期間は公式に未発表で、例年は夏季に動いています。訪れる前に有田市の案内で当日の稼働状況を確認してください。公園の開園時間は午前8時から午後9時30分までなので、日差しの弱まる夕方に遊ぶ計画も立てられます。水にぬれた地面は滑りやすいので、走らないよう先に声をかけておくと安心です。日陰は防災パーゴラなどにかぎられるため、レジャーシートと帽子、こまめな水分補給を忘れずに。

Tips

Please check visiting information and opening status in advance through Arida City tourism information. There are stone steps and gravel paths, so comfortable walking shoes are safest. The precincts are also a place where people live, so visit quietly. The trick to this course is not to linger, wrapping up in the morning to secure plenty of time at the park.
