The Miyakita Park Toddler Pool is a summer-only pool for young children set up in Miyakita Park in Wakayama City. In 2026 it is open from Saturday, July 18 to Wednesday, August 12, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. It is only for children who have not yet started elementary school; elementary students and older cannot use it. A parent or guardian must accompany the child, and swimwear is required. Ordinary disposable diapers and pull-ups are not permitted, so please prepare swim diapers for children who are not yet toilet trained. Admission is free, and because the play happens in the morning it is unlikely to disrupt nap time, which is welcome for families with little ones.

Tips

The pool may be canceled due to rain or other weather conditions. Checking the Wakayama City information and the day's forecast before you leave is reassuring. The park has no parking lot, so use public transport or a nearby paid parking lot. Since it ends at 12:30 p.m., getting out of the water around 12:15 p.m. leaves time to change without rushing. Deciding on a lunch spot in advance makes it easy to move straight from play to a meal.
