The Takatsu Park Toddler Pool is a summer-only pool for young children set up in Takatsu Park in Wakayama City. In 2026 it is open from Saturday, July 18 to Friday, July 31, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The season is shorter than at other parks, so once you decide to go it is best to fix the date early. It is for preschool-age children only; elementary school students and older cannot use it. A guardian must accompany the child, and swimwear is required. Admission is free, but ordinary disposable diapers and pull-up pants are not allowed, so bring swim diapers for children who are not yet out of diapers.

Tips
The pool may be cancelled due to rain or other weather conditions. Checking the Wakayama City announcement and the day's forecast before you leave is reassuring. The park has no parking lot, so use public transport or a nearby paid parking lot. It ends at 12:30 p.m., so allowing for changing time and getting out of the water around 12:15 keeps things unhurried. Since the short season closes on Friday, July 31, it also helps to have a backup date in case rain washes out your plan.
