Takasaka Sculpture Promenade

About this spot

An outdoor sculpture street where works by the sculptor Takata Hiroatsu stand here and there along the road leading from the west exit of Takasaka Station (高坂駅) on the Tobu Tojo Line. Being able to view real sculptures as you walk, without entering a museum, is very much a Higashimatsuyama trait. Many are figures of people, so walking while asking your child what this person might be doing keeps their feet moving naturally. It is just the right distance for a warm-up before heading to the zoo. Since it is outdoors, walking early in the morning before it gets hot is recommended.

東松山市の埼玉県こども動物自然公園にある「埼玉県こども動物自然公園ジャブジャブ池」です。2026年は7月18日(土)から9月11日(金)まで、9:30〜16:00の時間帯に開かれます(月曜休園日を除く)。天候や気温によって水をためない日があるため、当日の状況確認が欠かせません。ジャブジャブ池は無料で、別途入園料として大人900円・小中学生200円・未就学児無料がかかります。すぐそばに売店があってアイスクリームや軽食も買えるので、遊びながらの補給がしやすいのも助かるところ。動物を見た興奮そのままに水へ飛び込める、動物園ならではの水遊び場です。

Tips

天候・気温により水をためない日があるので、出かける前に公園の公式サイトで当日の稼働を確認してください。月曜は休園日になる点も要注意です。水遊び後は水道で足をよく洗い、木陰で休憩をはさみながら遊びましょう。おむつが取れていない子は水遊び用おむつを用意してください。終了は16:00なので、15時半をめどに片づけを始めると余裕を持って帰れます。

Tips

Some stretches have little shade, so be sure to bring a hat and drinks. You walk on the sidewalk, but there is car traffic, so hold your child's hand as you go. Following the whole route covers some distance, so walking just a few hundred meters from the station and turning back is plenty enjoyable.
