Ogimachi Park Fountain Plaza (扇町公園 噴水広場) is a free water-play spot in a park in the heart of Kita Ward, Osaka City. The 2026 season runs from Monday, June 1 to Wednesday, September 30, and because the starting time changed on July 17, 2026, be sure to check the official announcement for the operating hours on the day of your visit. There are several spray patterns plus a mist effect, and because the water behaves differently each time, you never get bored even standing in one spot. From 18:00 it becomes an LED-lit fountain show, and after sunset it shows a face completely different from the daytime. The park has large play equipment and an adjoining pool, so you can go back and forth between water and playground for hours. Admission is free, and the excellent location just a short walk from the subway station is another charm unique to the city center.

Tips

Operating hours can change partway through the year, so be sure to check the official announcement before you set out. The floor around the fountain becomes slippery when wet, so water sandals that stay on your feet are safer. Assume there are no changing rooms and bring a wrap towel or poncho you can put on over your clothes to change smoothly. Temperatures drop in the evening, so carrying one extra layer to throw on is reassuring.

Best time to visit

Plan on about two and a half hours from 16:00. The evening is comfortable once the sun softens, and from 18:00 you can also enjoy the LED fountain show
