Former Hamadera-koen Station Building (浜寺公園駅旧駅舎)
About this spot
This wooden Western-style station building at Hamadera-koen Station on the Nankai Main Line was built at the end of the Meiji era. It is known as a design by the office of Tatsuno Kingo (辰野金吾), and the white columns and the fine ornamentation of the roof survive to this day. When Hamadera Park drew crowds as a seaside bathing resort, this station was its gateway. It was relocated by house-moving when the tracks were elevated, and it is still preserved and in use in front of the station. Standing before the building, you can feel just how long the park you are about to visit has been loved.

浜寺公園 噴水（水遊びのできる噴水広場）は、大阪府営浜寺公園の第2・第3駐車場のそばにある無料の水遊びスポットです。2026年のシーズンは4/1(水)〜9/30(水)の9:00〜19:00と長く、18:00〜19:00にはライトアップされた噴水を眺められます。松林に囲まれた広場なので海からの風が通り、真夏でも日陰に入ればひと息つけるのがこの公園ならではの快適さです。園内にトイレと売店があり、料金は無料。19時まで動いているため、猛暑の日は夕方から出かけて涼しくなってから遊ぶという計画も立てられます。月に1日以上は清掃のため利用できず、悪天候時は運転が中止になるので、出発前の確認だけは忘れずに。
Tips
清掃日と運転状況は公園の案内で確認してください。噴水まわりの床面はぬれるとすべりやすいので、脱げにくい水遊び用サンダルが安心です。更衣室のない前提で、上から着られるラップタオルやポンチョを用意しておくと着替えがスムーズ。第2・第3駐車場が最寄りですが、休日は満車になりやすいため電車での来園も検討してください。
Tips
It adjoins Hamadera-koen Station on the Nankai Main Line, so if you come by train it is right outside the ticket gates. Whether the interior is open and what hours it keeps vary from day to day, so plan around viewing the exterior. The road in front of the station carries traffic, so mind where you stand when taking photos.
Best time to visit
About 30 minutes. The slanting morning light shows off the ornamentation beautifully.
