Shiyama Park wall fountain (artificial waterfall) water play area
About this spot
This is the free water play area at the Shiyama Park wall fountain (artificial waterfall) in Shiyama Park, Izumi Ward, Sendai City. Water falls from the wall fountain built into the slope within the park, and the shallow water below lets even small children touch the water and play. The same park has a roller slide and a large combination play structure, so the appeal is being able to spend a long stretch of time going back and forth between water play and the equipment. Parking and restrooms are in place, so there is no trouble finding a spot to change or rest. Since it is free, you can also use it casually, such as dropping by only in the evening of a hot day to cool off.
Season & hours
Name: 紫山公園 壁泉(人工滝)の水遊び場
Date & time: 開設期間は未発表 (例年は夏休み期間)
Venue: 仙台市泉区・紫山公園
Tips
The opening period has not been announced, and in past years it has operated during the summer vacation period. Check Sendai City's information for the day's status before you set out. The stones of the wall fountain are slippery when wet, so water shoes that protect your feet are reassuring. Even though the water is shallow, do not take your eyes off children, and an adult must always accompany them. The roller slide is rough on clothing, so long pants or a change of clothes you do not mind getting wet make it more comfortable. After playing, rinse feet well and change clothes before heading home so no one gets chilled.
Best time to visit
About 3 hours. The afternoon, when the sun softens, is recommended
