A shrine in the Miya district of Zao Town, deeply connected to the mountain faith of Zao. The precinct is surrounded by cedar trees and the air stays cool even in summer, so simply walking the approach settles the mind. Climbing the stone steps, touching the water at the purification basin, ringing the bell and putting your hands together makes an easy experience for young children to follow. There is also a shrine building high on the mountain, and the story of how the place of worship has shifted with the seasons catches children's interest if you explain it with a map. Telling them here that the water they will play in later flows down from Zao changes how the afternoon looks.

宮城県蔵王町の松川沿いに整備された、無料の「松川河川公園じゃぶじゃぶ水路」です。川べりにつくられた浅い水路なので、流れの強い本流に入らなくても、子どもが安心して水にふれられます。玉石護岸と階段護岸が整えられていて、水に近づく場所と腰かけて休む場所が分かれているのが家族連れにはありがたい造りです。多目的広場と芝生公園が隣接しているため、水に飽きたら走り回り、疲れたらシートで休むという行き来ができます。炊事場があるので、ルールを守れば温かい食事を用意することもできます。背後に蔵王連峰を望む景色の中で過ごせるのが、この公園ならではの魅力です。

開設期間は未発表で、例年は夏休み期間の運用です。出かける前に現地の案内で当日の状況を確認してください。川の公園なので、大雨のあとや上流で雨が降っているときは水量と濁りが変わります。天気が崩れそうな日は無理をせず中止してください。玉石は濡れると滑りやすいため、足を守れるマリンシューズがあると安心です。水深は浅くても目を離さず、大人が必ず付き添ってください。炊事場を使う場合は火の始末と後片付けを徹底し、ゴミは持ち帰ってください。

Tips

The precinct is a quiet place, so agreeing with the children in advance not to run around makes things go smoothly. There are stone steps, so it is safer to leave the stroller below and carry small children up. Mosquitoes appear in summer, so insect repellent adds comfort. Reception hours at the amulet counter vary by day.
