About this spot

A spacious town park in Zao Town, where a long slide built into the hillside is what children come for. Children never tire of the simple loop of climbing to the top of the hill and sliding back down. The lawn area is generously sized, so there is no trouble finding a spot to lay a picnic sheet and eat lunch. From the high ground you can look out at the Zao mountain range, so adults can rest while taking in the view. Setting a time limit so nobody overdoes it strikes the right balance before the afternoon water play.

宮城県蔵王町の松川沿いに整備された、無料の「松川河川公園じゃぶじゃぶ水路」です。川べりにつくられた浅い水路なので、流れの強い本流に入らなくても、子どもが安心して水にふれられます。玉石護岸と階段護岸が整えられていて、水に近づく場所と腰かけて休む場所が分かれているのが家族連れにはありがたい造りです。多目的広場と芝生公園が隣接しているため、水に飽きたら走り回り、疲れたらシートで休むという行き来ができます。炊事場があるので、ルールを守れば温かい食事を用意することもできます。背後に蔵王連峰を望む景色の中で過ごせるのが、この公園ならではの魅力です。

開設期間は未発表で、例年は夏休み期間の運用です。出かける前に現地の案内で当日の状況を確認してください。川の公園なので、大雨のあとや上流で雨が降っているときは水量と濁りが変わります。天気が崩れそうな日は無理をせず中止してください。玉石は濡れると滑りやすいため、足を守れるマリンシューズがあると安心です。水深は浅くても目を離さず、大人が必ず付き添ってください。炊事場を使う場合は火の始末と後片付けを徹底し、ゴミは持ち帰ってください。

Tips

The slide is hard on clothing, so long trousers or clothes you do not mind dirtying are recommended. Shade is limited, so lay your picnic sheet under a tree. Whether a kiosk is open varies by day, so bringing your own lunch and drinks is the safe choice. Checking where the toilets are when you arrive makes the rest of the visit easier.
