The northern section of the arcade shopping street that runs north to south through central Sendai, continuing almost all the way to Kotodai Park. The roof keeps off direct summer sun and sudden rain, which is a big advantage when walking with children. The range of restaurants is wide, making it easy to settle on a lunch that satisfies a family with different tastes. There are also drugstores and clothing shops, so you can top up anything you need for water play here. You can walk on to the park from here, so lunch flows straight into the afternoon plan.

仙台市青葉区の勾当台公園、いこいのゾーンにある無料の「勾当台公園いこいのゾーン壁泉」です。石積みの壁を滝のように水が流れ落ち、その手前で水にふれて涼むことができます。まわりには花壇と広場、野外音楽堂があり、水遊びの合間に散歩したり座って休んだりと過ごし方を変えられるのが街なかの公園らしい魅力です。売店とカフェ、トイレがそろっているので、飲み物やおやつを買い足しやすく、着替えの場所にも困りません。地下鉄勾当台公園駅の真上という立地なので、濡れた荷物を抱えても帰りが楽に済みます。

開設期間は未発表で、例年は夏休み期間の運用です。出かける前に仙台市の案内で当日の状況を確認してください。イベントの開催日は広場が使えないことがあるため、大きな催しの予定を確認しておくと安心です。石は濡れると滑りやすいので、足を守れるマリンシューズがあると安心です。水深は浅くても目を離さず、大人が必ず付き添ってください。着替えは公園のトイレより、地下街や周辺施設の多目的トイレの方が広く使えます。

Popular restaurants get crowded around noon on weekends, so arriving between 11 and 12 means being seated without a wait.
