The Oyodogawa Civic Green Space Seseragi Waterway is a roughly 400m channel in the Oyodogawa Civic Green Space (Tsurushima district) in Miyazaki City, fed by groundwater from the Oyodo River (大淀川). Miyazaki City officially lists it as a park where you can play in the water; the water is shallow, and its charm is that you can walk slowly from upstream to downstream while you play. It is scheduled to open from July through the end of September, from 8:00 to 19:00. Because the channel is long, you can pick a spot even when it is busy, and adults can sit down on the lawn area or on the nine benches along the way to keep watch. The river breeze passes through even though you are in the city, and the coolness deepens toward evening: a pleasure unique to the banks of the Oyodo River.

Miyazaki City's official page does not state the 2026 opening period explicitly; the fact that the parking lot beneath Tenmabashi Bridge (天満橋) is available only from July 1 to September 30 serves as a rough guide. Check the current situation in Miyazaki City's park information before you visit. Since it runs alongside the river, watch for rising and muddy water after heavy rain. The channel bed can be slippery, so water-play sandals are reassuring. It stays open until 19:00, so the hours after the sun starts to drop are also worth aiming for.
