This is a roadside station along a national highway in Saito City, with a farm stand gathering local produce and processed goods plus a place to eat. Saito is a farming area, so even just looking at the seasonal vegetables and fruit on display is a discovery for children. Its role in this course is to let you rest over lunch in an air-conditioned interior. It is also reassuring to pick up the extra towels and drinks you need for the afternoon water play here. Shimizudai General Park is a short drive away, so the trip after eating is a quick one.

「清水台総合公園噴水広場」は、西都市の清水台総合公園にある水遊びスポットです。ボタンを押すと一定時間水が出る仕組みで、自分で操作できるのが子どもにはたまらない面白さ。期間は7月1日(水)から9月20日(日)、時間は10:00〜16:00です。同じ公園内にちびっこ広場、大型複合遊具、ロングすべり台、草スキーがそろっているので、水に飽きたら遊具、体が冷えたら草の斜面へと、遊び方を切り替えながら長く過ごせます。東屋3棟とキッズトイレ、自販機まで整っていて、小さな子ども連れでも安心して滞在できる公園です。

西都市公式サイトの「清水台総合公園について」のページは現在404で参照できず、期間は西都市商工観光課が共同運営する観光ポータル「西都ゆるなび」の記載によります。訪れる前に当日の稼働を確認しておくと確実です。16時に終了となるため、着替えの時間を見込んで15時40分ごろには切り上げ始めると余裕があります。噴水まわりは濡れると滑りやすいので、走らないよう声をかけましょう。草スキーで遊ぶ場合は長そで長ズボンがあると擦り傷を防げます。

Tips

Eating spots get crowded at midday, so arriving a little early or shifting to after 13:00 cuts your wait.
