Hokkedake Park Jabunko Water Plaza is a water play area for young children in Hokkedake Park in Kunitomi Town, Higashimorokata District, fed by the clear current of the Aizen River (愛染川). In 2026 it is open from 18 July to 31 August, from 10:00 to 16:00, and closed on Wednesdays. A slide is provided, so even children entering the water for the first time understand at once how to play, and the cheering never stops. Because the water is drawn from a mountain river it is bracingly cold, and the way it cools you thoroughly even in midsummer is this place's particular pleasure. Changing rooms and hot showers can be used free of charge, and 60 parking spaces are reserved for Jabunko Plaza, making a family visit very easy to plan.

Tips

Admission is 200 yen for ages 3 and over and free for under-3s. Inflatable rings and summer beds rent for 100 yen a day, and the air pump can be used free of charge. It operates with a cap on visitor numbers, so on busy days head there early on the assumption that you may have to wait. The water is cold, so call the children over for a break before their lips turn blue. It closes at 16:00, so starting to get out around 15:40, allowing time for showers and changing, gives you room to spare.
