Hokkedake Park is a large park that makes use of a mountain slope, with lawns and resting places dotted around it. Being at altitude, the breeze is cooler than on the plains, and spreading a mat in the shade makes for a pleasant meal even in midsummer. A packed lunch eaten while looking at the greenery below and the distant ridgelines is by itself a memory children will keep. Because you can have lunch right beside Jabunko Plaza, the flow of finishing, changing and heading for the water comes about naturally. After eating, let everyone rest a little and get ready for the afternoon.

「法華嶽公園じゃぶんこ広場」は、東諸県郡国富町の法華嶽公園にある、愛染川の清流を引き込んだ幼児向けの水遊び場です。2026年の開場は7月18日から8月31日まで、時間は10:00〜16:00で、水曜は休園です。すべり台が設けられているので、水に入るのがはじめての子でも遊び方がすぐわかり、歓声が絶えません。山の川の水を引いているため水がきりりと冷たく、真夏でも体がしっかり冷えるのがこの場所ならではの気持ちよさです。更衣室と温水シャワーが無料で使え、じゃぶんこ広場専用の駐車場が60台分あるので、家族での利用がとても計画しやすくなっています。

Tips

As this is a mountain park, shop opening hours can be limited. Preparing your lunch and drinks in advance is the sure approach. Rubbish must be taken home as a rule, so bring plenty of bags. Going into the water right after eating can easily upset the stomach, so leave a gap of about 30 minutes before moving on to water play.
