Inside the Takaoka Art Museum (高岡市美術館) is a permanent gallery introducing the world of Fujiko F. Fujio, the manga artist born and raised in Takaoka. Original drawings and materials are on display, and being able to see the fineness of the lines and the use of color up close means that children who know the works, and perhaps their parents' generation even more, may find themselves lingering. The exhibition room is compact, so even little ones can go all the way around while their concentration lasts. Being able to touch this town's culture while staying cool indoors makes it a fitting opening to this course. Exhibits at the Takaoka Art Museum in the same building can be enjoyed together with it.

「高岡おとぎの森公園かっぱの広場」は、高岡市の高岡おとぎの森公園にある無料の水遊び場です。公式の紹介には「かっぱの広場は千保川の側にある人工で作られた池になります。水深が浅いので小さな子供でも安心して水浴びができ、夏場は水着姿の子供達が元気に遊んでいます」と記されており、水遊びデビューの子でも入りやすい場所です。開設期間は未発表ですが、例年は夏休み期間を中心とした夏場に楽しめます。入園は無料で、隣接するおとぎの森館にはふわふわドームやボールプールがあり、こどもの家や大型複合遊具もそろっているため、水に飽きたら遊具、遊具に飽きたらまた水と一日中遊び続けられます。千保川側の隔壁石より先は流れが速いため近づかないよう注意書きがあるので、遊ぶ前に子どもと約束しておきましょう。
