The Takaoka Otogi-no-Mori Park Kappa Plaza is a free water-play spot in Takaoka Otogi-no-Mori Park in Takaoka City. The official introduction states that Kappa Plaza is an artificial pond on the Senbo River (千保川) side, that the water is shallow so even small children can bathe safely, and that in summer children in swimsuits play here energetically, so it is an easy place even for a child's first taste of water play. The opening period has not been announced, but in most years it can be enjoyed in summer, centered on the school holidays. Admission is free, and the adjoining Otogi-no-Mori Hall has a bouncy dome and a ball pool along with a children's house and a large play structure, so children can keep playing all day, moving to the equipment when tired of the water and back to the water when tired of the equipment.
