This prefectural museum stands on the grounds of Toyama International Health Plaza, the same site as Toyama Health Park. Through photographs, testimony and models, you can trace the history of the pollution that occurred in the Jinzu River basin and the path of the people who rose up from it. Some of the content is difficult for very young children, but a child of elementary-school age will naturally come away with a sense of just how precious water and soil are. The exhibits are compactly arranged, so a full circuit takes about an hour. It is a place to stop by quietly as the gateway to a day spent outdoors getting close to water.

「とやま健康パークじゃぶじゃぶ池」は、富山市のとやま健康パーク(富山県国際健康プラザ)の屋外健康づくり施設の中央にある無料の水遊び場です。冒険心をかき立てる大きな岩が水の中に置かれていて、岩をよじ登ったり岩陰をのぞき込んだりと、ただ浅いだけの水場にはない遊び方が生まれます。深さは膝丈ほどなので、水遊びに慣れていない小さな子でも保護者がそばにいれば安心して入れます。公式サイトの案内は「じゃぶじゃぶ池ご利用期間:春季〜秋季」とのみ記載されており、利用期間はその都度決定されるため、出かける前に問い合わせておくのが確実です。料金は無料で、自然浴広場やトリムコース、アドベンチャーフィールド、健康遊歩道、パークゴルフ場が隣接しているので、水に飽きたら別の遊びへ移れるのもこの場所の強みです。

利用期間はその都度決められるため、訪れる前にとやま健康パーク(富山県国際健康プラザ)へ必ず問い合わせてください。岩でつまずいたり足を切ったりしないよう、マリンシューズなど足を守れる履き物を用意しましょう。屋外なので日陰の確保が大切です。30分に一度は水から上がって水分を取り、休憩をはさみながら遊ぶと熱中症を防げます。おむつが取れていない子は水遊び用おむつを準備してください。
