Ao Castle Ruins (阿尾城跡)

About this spot

Castle ruins on top of a cape jutting into Toyama Bay (富山湾), in the Ao district of Himi City. No buildings remain, but the terrain surrounded by sea on three sides is unchanged, and simply standing there makes it obvious why a castle was built here. From the hilltop you can look out over the broad expanse of Toyama Bay, and on a clear day the scenery on the far shore comes into view. Being right by the sea, the wind passes through well, and it is pleasantly walkable even on a summer morning. Before the day's main event of meeting the fish, this is a chance to feel with your whole body just how close Himi is to the sea.

「富山県栽培漁業センターふれあいプール」は、氷見市の富山県栽培漁業センターにある無料の水遊びスポットです。屋外の大型プールに素足で入り、富山県で放流されるクロダイやキジハタなどの稚魚とふれあえるのが最大の特徴で、ただ水に入るだけの水遊びとはまるで違う体験ができます。屋内外にはタッチプールもあり、魚へのエサやり体験や、5月下旬からはクロダイ稚魚の大型水槽観察も楽しめます。来館料は無料で、施設内に有料のものはありません。開館は9:30から16:30まで、5月から10月は火曜が休館、11月から4月は土日祝が休館です(令和8年5月1日より土日祝も開館)。濡れてもよい服装で、着替えとタオルを持参し、滑りにくい靴やサンダルを履いて訪れるのがすすめられています。

Tips

5月から10月は火曜が休館です。日程を決めるときに必ず確認してください。プール内での飲食は禁止なので、水分補給はプールの外で行いましょう。足元は濡れて滑りやすいため、滑りにくい靴やサンダルを必ず用意してください。魚を扱う施設なので、係員の案内に従い、魚を強くつかまないよう子どもに先に伝えておきましょう。閉館は16:30なので、16:15には上がって着替えの時間を確保すると落ち着いて帰れます。体験プログラムの実施状況は事前に問い合わせておくと確実です。

Tips

There are climbing paths and spots where the footing is uneven, so visit in comfortable walking shoes. Some cliff edges have no handrails, so always hold small children by the hand. There is little shade, so a hat and drinks are essential. Parking space is limited, so park according to the on-site signs.
