About this spot
Orange Park Funahashi is a long, narrow riverside park that follows the Kyotsubo River (京坪川), and the lawn area is the most relaxing rest spot within it. So that you do not have to wander around looking for a kiosk, this course suggests bringing your own bento and spreading a sheet in the shade of the trees. You can eat while watching the children run off to the play equipment right in front of you, so the adults get a calm meal too. It is also right beside the water play area, which makes it easy to rest a little after eating and then move straight on. The shade shifts as the hours pass, so choose a spot where the shadow of the trees is deep.

「オレンジパークふなはし ひとりじゃ遊べない水遊び場」は、舟橋村のオレンジパークふなはし(京坪川河川公園)にある無料の水遊び場です。名前のとおり、手押しポンプで誰かが水を汲み上げないと遊べない仕組みになっていて、汲み上げた水はじゃぶじゃぶ池と泥んこスロープへ流れていきます。ポンプを押す係と水を受ける係を交代しながら遊ぶことになるので、初めて会った子ども同士でも自然と声を掛け合うようになるのがこの遊び場の一番の魅力です。村の子ども(こども公園部長)とクラウドファンディングによってつくられた、住民の思いが形になった場所でもあります。開設期間は未発表で、公園は終日開放されていますが、水遊び場の通水期間は公式に記載がありません。園内には複合遊具や、ボルダリングと滑り台のある「秘密基地」、芝生広場もそろっているので、水に飽きても遊び場所に困りません。
Tips
水遊び場の通水期間は公式に記載がないため、訪れる前に舟橋村へ確認しておくと確実です。泥んこスロープがあるので、服も体も泥だらけになる前提で着替えとタオルを多めに用意してください。泥のついた服を入れる袋と、車のシートを保護する敷物があると帰りが楽です。ポンプは力がいるので、小さな子は大人と一緒に押しましょう。日陰は限られるため、こまめな水分補給と休憩を心がけてください。
Tips
It is safest to prepare your bento and drinks beforehand and bring them with you. Rubbish is taken home as a rule, so bring plenty of bags. Resting for about 30 minutes after eating before moving on to water play helps prevent anyone feeling unwell. Insect repellent makes the riverside more comfortable too.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour. Spending the strong midday sun in the shade of the trees is exactly the right call.
