Yamaguchi Kirara Expo Memorial Park Kirarando Water Play Plaza

About this spot

This is the Yamaguchi Kirara Expo Memorial Park Kirarando Water Play Plaza, newly built in 2026 at Yamaguchi Kirara Expo Memorial Park in Ajisu, Yamaguchi City. It opened on Monday, July 27, 2026 and can be used from 10:00 to 18:00 until Sunday, September 27 (from next year it is scheduled to open from late April). Across roughly 2,800 square meters, a shallow wading pool about 5 cm deep sits alongside a varied set of water features: four arch fountains, six mist fountains and seven rime-tree fountains. The water is so shallow that even children who have just started walking can enter safely, and the sheer variety of fountains means they can play for a long time without getting bored, which is the charm of this new plaza. Rest facilities and benches are in place, and next door is the large combination playground Kirarando. Both park admission and use of the plaza are free.

Tips

You cannot enter the fountains barefoot or in diapers. Be sure to bring footwear such as water shoes. The fountain water is sterilized recirculated water and cannot be drunk, so bring your own drinks. Pets cannot be brought in. Since it has only just opened, people gather easily, so securing parking early is reassuring. After playing, dry off, change clothes and cool down in the rest facility before heading home, and the tiredness will not linger.

Best time to visit

About 2 hours 45 minutes. It is especially comfortable after 15:00 when the sunlight softens, and you can play until 18:00
