About this spot

A roadside station in Mikawa Town (三川町) where a farm-stand corner and a hot spring facility sit on the same grounds. In summer, dadacha-mame edamame, melons and vegetables from the Shonai Plain fill the shelves, and the sight of locals shopping is itself part of the local atmosphere. For children, rows of oddly shaped vegetables and huge watermelons make an entertaining experience in their own right. It is also handy for topping up on drinks and snacks for the afternoon water play. With a hot spring facility attached, you can plan a stop here on the way home as well.

三川町の赤川河川緑地ふれあい広場に整備されたのが「パルク赤川親水エリアの噴水」です。河川敷らしい開けた景色の中にあり、遮るものが少ないぶん風が通って気持ちよく過ごせます。噴水のまわりは浅い親水エリアになっていて、小さな子でも大人が付き添えば安心して水にふれられます。かまど施設のある休憩広場ではバーベキューもでき(要申請)、多目的グラウンド、水洗い場、飲食スペース、駐車場が整っているので、家族で長く過ごしても不便がありません。利用は無料なので、短時間だけ立ち寄る使い方もできます。水洗い場があるのは、砂や芝生の汚れを落として帰りたい家族連れにはとてもありがたい設備です。

三川町公式は「親水エリアの噴水は点検後、開始予定です。(令和8年4末頃開始予定)」と告知しており、終了時期の記載はありません。開設期間は未発表なので、出発前に稼働状況を確認してください。公園の利用は4月から11月中旬まで、日の出から日没までです。日陰が限られる河川緑地なので、帽子と日焼け止め、木陰用のレジャーシートを必ず用意しましょう。バーベキューをする場合は事前の申請が必要です。おむつが取れていない子は水遊び用おむつを用意してください。

Tips

Check the opening hours and closing days in the official information before you go. Popular vegetables and fruit can sell out in the morning, so an early visit is recommended. Fresh produce suffers in a hot car, so bring a cooler bag and ice packs.
