Enzan Fureai-no-Mori General Park Hyotan Pond

About this spot

The Hyotan Pond at Enzan Fureai-no-Mori General Park is a free water-play spot in the nature-walk area. It has a vigorously spouting fountain and a waterfall, so you can cool off to the sound of running water. In 2026 it opens from Saturday, May 2, and can be used from 8:30 to 18:00, so you can stay from morning until evening without watching the clock. The roughly 16-hectare park also has the Fruit Paradise playground, a walking course, an observation deck, a multi-purpose field and a municipal gymnasium, so there is somewhere else to go if the children tire of the water. Groves of trees surround the area, making shade easy to find and the environment relatively comfortable even at the height of summer.

Tips

Admission is free. It is open from Saturday, May 2, from 8:30 to 18:00, and the closing date has not been announced (late September is the usual guide for the summer season), so be sure to check the official Koshu City page (https://www.city.koshu.yamanashi.jp/docs/2025050200017/) in advance. The water can feel cold in May and September, so bringing one extra layer to put on is reassuring. Changing space is limited, so a towel poncho is handy. The ground around the pond gets wet and slippery, so remind children not to run.

Best time to visit

Arrive at 14:00 and you can enjoy a full two and a half hours as the sunlight softens
