The Kinryu Park Wading Pool (children's pool) is a free water-play spot in Kinryu Park (田端町1-10) in the Bairin district of Gifu City. In 2026 it opens on a total of 31 days between July 21 and August 30, from 13:00 to 16:00. The water is shallow, so even small children who cannot swim can walk on their own feet and get comfortable in the water. It is intended in principle for children in the third grade of elementary school and younger; preschoolers must be accompanied by a guardian, and infants who are not out of diapers cannot use it. Opening days follow Gifu City's schedule, and in bad weather a red flag is raised and the pool closes. Let the shallow water slowly cool bodies warmed by the morning climb.

Tips
Use is free. You can tell whether it is open that day from the flag on site (a red flag means closed). Do not count on changing rooms; wearing swimsuits under clothes makes changing easy. A picnic sheet to spread in the shade makes breaks more comfortable. Since it closes at 16:00, start packing up around 15:45.
Best time to visit
Right after the 13:00 opening it is uncrowded and the water is at its cleanest
