This is Shirakicho Park Wading Pool (白木町公園 徒渉池), a free water-play spot and children's pool in Shirakicho Park at 白木町28-2 in the Kinka district of Gifu City. In 2026 it opens on a total of 18 days between July 22 and August 10, from 13:00 to 16:00. Because it is a shallow wading pool, even small children who cannot swim yet can get used to the water while walking on their own feet. It is intended in principle for children in the third grade of elementary school and younger; preschool children must be accompanied by a guardian, and infants still in diapers cannot use it. Opening days follow the schedule published by Gifu City, and in bad weather a red flag is raised at the wading pool and it is closed. Cool down the body you walked around with all morning in the cold water and round off the summer afternoon.

Use is free. Check the opening days and whether it is running that day on the Gifu City schedule and by the flag on site (a red flag is the signal for closure). Do not count on changing rooms or lockers; putting swimwear on underneath before you leave makes changing smooth. Shade is limited, so a picnic sheet, a hat and plenty of drinks are reassuring. Closing is at 16:00, so start packing up around 15:45 to head home with time to spare.

Right after the 13:00 opening the water is clean and it is uncrowded. Aim to wrap up by 15:45
