Nagaragawa Ukai Museum

About this spot

A Gifu City facility standing on the banks of the Nagara River that conveys the history and culture of cormorant fishing. Its official name is the Gifu City Nagara River Ukai Museum, and it has easy-to-follow displays on the cormorant masters' robes, an actual fishing boat, and the lives of the birds themselves. In the video theater you can watch fishing scenes lit by blazing torches on a large screen, so even families who cannot come at night can get a feel for it. The building is air-conditioned, another plus for spending a hot morning in comfort. After your visit, step out along the Nagara River and enjoy the view of the water and Mt. Kinka.

岐阜市長良西地区のどんぐり公園(福光西1丁目16-3)にある、無料で利用できる水遊び場「どんぐり公園徒渉池(児童用プール)」です。2026年は7月22日から8月30日までのうち計31日間、13時から16時まで開設されます。開設日数が多いので、夏休みの都合に合わせて日を選びやすいのが助かります。水深が浅いため、まだ泳げない小さな子どもでも自分の足で歩きながら水に親しめます。対象は原則として小学3年生以下で、未就学児は保護者同伴、おむつのとれない幼児は利用できません。開設日は岐阜市の日程表のとおりで、悪天候のときは赤旗が掲げられて中止になります。

Tips

利用は無料です。当日の実施可否は現地の旗で確認できます(赤旗は中止の合図)。水着を服の下に着ていくと、現地での着替えがスムーズです。地面が熱くなるため、水遊び用サンダルがあると足を守れます。16時終了なので、15時45分ごろには片づけを始めましょう。

Tips

There is an admission fee. Prices, opening hours, and closing days may change, so check the official website for the latest information. The video theater goes dark, so telling children who dislike dark places beforehand will put them at ease. There is little shade along the Nagara River, so do not forget a hat and drinks when moving between spots.
