The Chikajima Park Wading Pool (children's pool), a free water-play area in Chikajima Park (Chikajima 4-chome) in the Shima district of Gifu City. In 2026 it is open on a total of 9 days between July 22 and July 31, from 13:00 to 16:00. Because the opening days are limited, this is a water-play spot to schedule for the first half of the summer holidays. The water is shallow, so even small children who cannot swim yet can walk on their own feet and get used to the water. Use is in principle limited to children in third grade of elementary school and below; preschoolers must be accompanied by a guardian, and infants who are not yet toilet-trained may not use the pool. Opening days follow the Gifu City schedule, and in bad weather a red flag is raised and the pool closes.
