This is the free water-play spot called the Soden-naka Park Wading Pool (早田中公園 徒渉池), a children's pool in Soden-naka Park (早田中公園) at 栄新町1丁目42 in the Soden district of Gifu City. In 2026 it opens on a total of 23 days between July 21 and August 12, from 13:00 to 16:00. The water is shallow, so even small children who cannot swim yet can walk on their own feet and get used to the water. It is intended in principle for children in the third grade of elementary school or younger; preschoolers must be accompanied by a guardian, and infants who are not yet out of diapers cannot use it. Opening days follow the schedule from Gifu City, and in bad weather a red flag is raised and the pool is cancelled. It is a cool stretch of time that makes a fitting finish after a morning of looking around the town.

Use is free. You can check whether it is running that day by the flag on site; a red flag is the sign that it is cancelled. Putting swimwear on under clothes makes changing easy. The ground gets hot, so water-play sandals are reassuring. It ends at 16:00, so start packing up around 15:45.
