This is the Kutsukake Park Wading Pool for Children (沓掛公園 徒渉池), a free water-play spot in Kutsukake Park in the Nagamori-kita district of Gifu City (長森本町1丁目9). In 2026 it opens on a total of 19 days between July 21 and August 9, from 13:00 to 16:00. The water is shallow, so even small children who cannot swim yet can get used to the water while walking on their own feet. It is intended in principle for children up to the third grade of elementary school; preschool children must be accompanied by a guardian, and infants not yet out of diapers may not use it. Opening days follow the Gifu City schedule, and in bad weather a red flag goes up and the pool closes. Local children gather here, so you get a direct taste of the neighborhood in summer.

Tips
Use is free. You can check whether it is open on the day by the flag on site (a red flag means closed). Wearing swimsuits under clothing makes changing quick. Shade is limited, so bring a picnic sheet and plenty of drinks. It ends at 16:00, so start packing up around 15:45.
Best time to visit
Right after the 13:00 opening it is uncrowded and the water is at its cleanest
