The Mishima Park Wading Pool (美島公園 徒渉池) is a free water play area in Mishima Park in the Soden district of Gifu City (Mishima-cho 4-16). In 2026 it opens on a total of 23 days between July 21 and August 12, from 13:00 to 16:00. The water is shallow, so even small children who cannot swim yet can get used to the water on their own two feet. It is intended in principle for children up to the third grade of elementary school; preschoolers must be accompanied by a guardian, and infants who are not yet out of diapers cannot use it. Opening days follow the Gifu City schedule, and in bad weather a red flag is raised and the pool is closed. Let the legs that climbed the hill in the morning cool down slowly in the water.

Use is free. You can tell whether it is open that day from the flag on site (a red flag means it is closed). Wearing swimwear under your clothes makes changing easy. The ground gets hot, so water sandals protect small feet. It ends at 16:00, so start packing up around 15:45.

Right after the 13:00 opening it is quiet, so children can ease into the water
