A temple in Kagashima, Gifu City, long known affectionately by the local name Kagashima Kobo (鏡島弘法). As a temple enshrining Kobo Daishi (弘法大師), it draws rows of stalls and large crowds on its monthly fair days. The precincts are surrounded by trees, so there is shade even in midsummer and walking around stays comfortable. It is within walking distance of Shobuike Park (菖蒲池公園), making it just the right morning stop before the water play. Feeling the atmosphere of a temple rooted in local daily life gives you a real sense of the area.

岐阜市鏡島地区の菖蒲池公園(鏡島字辰巳野2970-1)にある、無料で利用できる水遊び場「菖蒲池公園徒渉池(児童用プール)」です。2026年は7月22日から8月26日までのうち計31日間、13時から16時まで開設されます。開設日数が多いので、夏休みの予定に合わせて行く日を選びやすいのが助かります。水深が浅いため、まだ泳げない小さな子どもでも自分の足で歩きながら水に親しめます。対象は原則として小学3年生以下で、未就学児は保護者同伴、おむつのとれない幼児は利用できません。開設日は岐阜市の日程表のとおりで、悪天候のときは赤旗が掲げられて中止になります。

Tips

利用は無料です。当日の実施可否は現地の旗で確認できます(赤旗は中止の合図)。水着を服の下に着ていくと着替えがスムーズです。日陰が限られるため、レジャーシートと多めの飲み物を持参してください。16時終了なので、15時45分ごろには片づけを始めましょう。

Tips

Visiting is free. On fair days the surrounding roads and parking lots get crowded, so check the dates before you go. The precincts are a place to stay quiet, so agree with children in advance not to run. Mosquitoes can appear in summer, so insect repellent makes the visit more comfortable.
