The Motomaru Park Stream Channel and Mist Fountain is a free water-play spot at Motomaru Park in Motosu City. In summer only, water flows between 8:30 and 17:00, and the walk-in stream channel and mist fountain create a wonderfully cool space. The channel is built shallow, so even small children who cannot swim yet can get used to the water while walking on their own two feet. The mist fountain lets children who dislike getting into water start by simply standing in the spray, so siblings can each choose how they want to play. A large play structure and lawn area sit right alongside, so you can move freely between the water, the play equipment, and a rest in the shade when tired. Being able to top up drinks and snacks at the Motomaru Cafe & Marche in the park is another reassuring point for a long visit.

In rain or strong wind the water stops automatically for safety. Operating hours are 8:30 to 17:00, so start packing up around 17:00. Do not count on changing rooms; wearing swimwear under your clothes before you leave makes changing much easier. Bring water sandals or water shoes so you do not hurt your feet on the channel bed. Shade is limited, so do not forget a picnic sheet, a hat, and plenty to drink.

Best time to visit

Roughly 14:15 to 17:00. After 15:00, as the sun drops, the light softens and the water temperature becomes just right
