Kokei Irrigation Plaza Fountain & Mist (虎渓用水広場 噴水・ミスト)
About this spot
This is the free water play area Kokei Irrigation Plaza Fountain & Mist (虎渓用水広場 噴水・ミスト) in the North Plaza of Tajimi Station in Tajimi City. In 2026 the fountain and mist operate from June 1 to September 30, between 9:00 and 19:00. Water emerges from nine openings in a variety of patterns, sometimes welling up gently and sometimes shooting up with force, and children race around trying to read the next move. A lawn area adjoins the plaza, so you can lie down to dry off after getting wet and then return to the water. It is right outside the north exit of Tajimi Station, making it easy to reach by train, and it is reassuring that you can rest at a shop near the station if the heat wears you out. It is one of the most refreshing places to spend summer in Tajimi, known as one of the hottest spots in the country.
Season & hours
Name: 虎渓用水広場 噴水・ミスト
Date & time: 6/1–9/30 9:00–19:00 ※気温20℃未満・湿度85%超・風速5m/s超のときは安全のため運転を制御
Venue: 多治見市・虎渓用水広場(多治見駅北広場)
Tips
Use is free. For safety, operation is restricted when the temperature is below 20C, humidity exceeds 85%, or wind speed exceeds 5 m/s, so depending on the weather that day the water may not run. Operation continues until 19:00, but playing in the evening, away from the strongest sunlight, is more comfortable. Do not count on changing rooms; wearing a swimsuit under your clothes before you set out makes things smooth. Bring water sandals or marine shoes so you do not slip on the stone paving. This is a plaza in front of a station, so there are people passing through. Agreeing with your children on how far they may run around gives peace of mind.
Best time to visit
Roughly 14:00 to 17:00. After 16:00, as the sun sinks, the heat eases and play is at its most pleasant
