About this spot

An old temple in Nichioji, Kita Ward, Okayama City, which also gave this area its name. Surrounded by mountain woodland, the approach feels a degree cooler the moment you enter, which is a blessing for walking even in midsummer. Climbing the stone steps to stand before the main hall, you are enveloped in a stillness hard to believe so close to an airport. It is not a place to spend a long time, but a moment of prayer before heading out to play makes a fitting punctuation mark in the family's day. 岡山市北区にある「日応寺自然の森スポーツ広場こども広場噴水」は、森に囲まれた無料の水遊びスポットです。こども広場の噴水と修景池で水しぶきをあげて遊べ、すぐ横には木製複合遊具があるので、水と遊具を行き来しながら長い時間を過ごせます。園内にはフィットネス広場やパターゴルフ場もあり、上の子や大人も一緒に体を動かせるのがこの公園の懐の深いところ。岡山空港が近く、遊んでいる最中に飛行機が頭上を通っていくのも子どもには大きな見どころです。市街地より木立が濃く、付き添う大人が休める日陰を見つけやすいのも助かります。

2026年の噴水の開設期間は未発表です。例年は夏休み期間なので、出発前に岡山市の案内で当日水が出るかを確認してください。公園は9:00〜17:00の開園で、月曜(祝日の場合は翌日)は休園なので曜日を必ず確かめましょう。森の中なので蚊やハチがいます。虫よけを持参し、甘い飲み物の飲み残しは放置しないでください。着替えとタオル、濡れた服を入れるビニール袋は人数分そろえておくと帰りが楽になります。

Tips

There are stone steps and slopes, so wear comfortable walking shoes. This is a place of worship, so a word beforehand about not running around keeps things smooth. On days with ceremonies or memorial services the parking lot may be unavailable, so if it is crowded do not force it and simply move on. There are many mosquitoes among the trees, so bringing insect repellent makes the visit more comfortable.
