The Green Hills Tsuyama Entrance Plaza Fountain in Tsuyama City is a free, summer-only water play spot with 36 nozzles set across a plaza roughly 14m square. Computer control sends up 15 different water patterns, so a game of guessing where and in what shape the water will appear next arises all by itself. What makes this fountain interesting is that the movement of the water becomes the toy, not just getting wet. The 25ha grounds hold a region center and large play equipment, so when children tire of the water they can move to the playground, and when they are worn out, to the shade of the lawn. The Glass House, a heated pool, stands alongside, but it is a separate paid facility. In a typical year it runs from late June to early September, 10:00 to 17:00.

The 2026 operating period has not been announced, so check with Tsuyama City information before you set out to confirm the water will be running that day. The stone paving of the plaza is slippery when wet, so remind children not to run and have them wear water shoes or sandals that will not slip off. There is little shade in the plaza, so return to the trees often and keep drinking water. The adjoining Glass House is a separate paid facility, and its fees, hours, and rules on what to bring differ from the fountain. Bring a change of clothes, a towel, and a plastic bag for wet clothes for each person to make the trip home easy.
