2026 Green Hills Tsuyama Entrance Plaza Fountain: A Full Day Course
A course for a full day of play close to home, starring the Green Hills Tsuyama Entrance Plaza Fountain in Tsuyama City. Thirty-six nozzles are set into a plaza roughly 14m square, and computer control sends up 15 different water patterns in this summer-only water play spot. The water does not simply rise from the same place in the same way; it keeps changing shape, so children can read its movements and play for hours. The 25ha grounds also hold a region center and large play equipment, and the Glass House, a separate paid facility with a heated pool, stands alongside. Use is free, and in a typical year it runs from late June to early September, 10:00 to 17:00. The 2026 operating period has not been announced, so check with Tsuyama City information before you set out. In the morning, see the fan-shaped roundhouse and the real railcars at the Tsuyama Learning Railroad Museum, then take in the magnificent stone walls of Tsuyama Castle (津山城). At noon, eat while walking the streets of old townhouses in the Joto Townscape Preservation District. In the afternoon, enjoy the water at the fountain plaza until evening. It is a course only Tsuyama can offer, linking castle-town sights and water play in a single day.
