Suido Park Fountain and Water Curtain is a free water play spot in Suido Park in Miyako City. The star attraction is the water curtain, where the space behind the falling water forms a passage. Walking through the inside of a wall of falling water is something special for children, who will run back and forth again and again, shrieking with delight. Together with the fountain, it runs every year from April 15 to October 15, and it is a joy to have such a long season to come back to as often as you like. The park has benches, tables, drinking fountains and toilets, so even families with small children can settle in comfortably. In July and August there is evening illumination, offering a completely different face from the daytime as the water takes on light after dark.

Tips

Operating hours change by period: 9:00 to 17:00 from April 15 to April 30, 9:00 to 18:00 from May 1 to June 30, 9:00 to 20:30 from July 1 to August 31 (the illumination period), and 9:00 to 17:00 from September 1 to October 15. Be sure to confirm the hours for the day of your visit before setting out. Wet passages and stones are slippery, so bring footwear that protects the feet, such as water shoes, and tell children not to run in the passage. Changing areas are limited, so wearing swimwear underneath makes things go smoothly. In April, May and from September onward both the water and the wind are cold, so bring extra layers and towels. For children not yet out of diapers, follow the on-site notices about entering the water. Please take all rubbish home with you.
