Water & Gourmet Park in Izumo ICHIGO-en is a summer-only water play venue held at Izumo ICHIGO-en in Taisha-cho, Izumo City. It runs on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from Saturday, July 18, 2026 to Sunday, August 30, 2026, for a total of 20 days, from 10:00 to 17:00 (last entry 16:00). There is a pool 10 meters long and a dinosaur slider, and the sight of children sliding down amid flying spray makes a shot you will want to keep. A changing space is provided, so you can change into swimwear to play and freshen up before getting back in the car, which is a real help. The pool costs 1,000 yen per person and is for children aged 3 and over up to elementary school age, no taller than 140 cm and no heavier than 50 kg; guardians and children under 3 are free. The food area is free to enter, so adults and siblings who are not swimming can stay together too, and everyone in the family has a place to be.

The event is canceled in stormy weather. On the morning of your visit, be sure to check the operating status on the official Izumo ICHIGO-en website (https://www.izumoichigoen.jp/2026/06/30/1177/). It is held only on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays and not on weekdays, so take care not to mix up the dates. Last entry is 16:00, so allow plenty of time if you are heading over in the afternoon. Swimwear must be worn to use the pool. There are conditions of up to 140 cm in height and 50 kg in weight, so checking in advance for a larger elementary school child avoids a scramble on the day. For children not yet out of diapers, please bring swim diapers.

Best time to visit

About 2 hours 35 minutes. Entering in the 14:00 hour, in time for the 16:00 last entry, avoids the peak crowds and still gives you plenty of play until evening.
